We just got back from the annual PIA of VA and DC convention and while I came back with a neat Visa Gift card, Shannon came back with an awesome award!

This year's convention was located at Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg and gave us a chance to talk with a lot of other great Virginia agents and the companies that we write insurance with. Auto-Owners, Progressive and Openly, to name a few, were there to let us know the new ways they all are making insurance better for our clients.

During the awards luncheon, Shannon was awarded the Outstanding Commitee Chair of The Year! She was super surprised and very grateful to be honored. However, everyone in the PIA thought she was a shoo-in for the award because of her great work this year on behalf of the PIA, including helping to raise over $15,000 for the Special Olympics at the PIA of VA and DC Golf Tournament.

President

Nick Springer, current President and CEO of Springer Insurance, joined the agency in 2000. From CSR to telemarketer, Associate Agent, Vice President, and now President, Nick has worked nearly every job in the agency — including janitor while he was in middle school two nights a week!

After taking over for Reta, who retired in 2018, Nick and his wife, Shannon, have grown the agency to four locations and recently moved the Home Office to a new office condo, still located in Midlothian. Over his many years in the insurance industry, Nick has attained the designation of Certified Authority on Workers Compensation (CAWC) and the coveted Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.

Nick is also the creator of ThresholdApp.com and AgentsRVA.com, tools designed to support insurance agencies, agents, and clients with smarter access to information and resources.

Nick is now heading up the new Springer Private Client Division, geared toward providing personalized insurance solutions for clients with more complex personal insurance needs. Outside of the agency, Nick enjoys boating on the Chesapeake Bay and Lake Gaston with his wife, Shannon, and their two children, Cruize and Caris.
