Local Insurance Leader Takes Helm of Prestigious Industry Association

The Springer Agency is proud to announce that Shannon Springer, AMP, CLCS, CAWC, has been elected President of the Professional Insurance Agents of Virginia & Washington, D.C. during the organization's annual convention held in Danville, Virginia.

The election marks another significant milestone in Shannon's insurance career and reflects her commitment to advancing the independent insurance industry throughout the Commonwealth and the District of Columbia.

Shannon serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Springer Agency. Prior to joining the agency in 2018, she spent more than 20 years in the mortgage banking industry, including serving as Director of Regulatory Compliance for a large regional bank.

Her extensive background in compliance, risk management, and financial services has provided a unique perspective that has proven valuable to both clients and industry organizations.

A Strong Voice for Agribusiness and Independent Agents

In addition to her leadership responsibilities within the agency, Shannon oversees The Springer Agency's Agribusiness Division, specializing in insurance solutions for farms, wineries, breweries, and other agricultural businesses throughout Virginia.

Having grown up in Dinwiddie County, Shannon maintains strong ties to Virginia's agricultural community and remains passionate about helping rural businesses and family farms protect what matters most.

National Recognition

In May 2023, Shannon was awarded the PIA National Young Insurance Professional of the Year, one of the highest honors awarded to emerging leaders within the independent agency system.

She has also earned multiple professional designations, including AMP, CLCS, and CAWC, reflecting her commitment to continuing education and professional excellence.
