Insurance Missiles- word of the day!

Snow and ice - it's pretty but it's also a pain to drive on!
Have you ever gotten in to your snow covered car only to drive away once the windows were clear? Then while driving down Powhite Parkway on your way to work, you see a huge powder explosion in your rear view from the snow that, just seconds ago, was on your roof?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that has happened to most everyone I know! But did you also know that if that huge missile of snow (that is the technical term for something flying through the air, even ICE) hit and damaged someone or something, you are held responsible?
Let's say that chunk of ice hit your car from the car in front of you. If you carry Comprehensive coverage, then your insurance could help fix your vehicle. But, if you knew who caused the damage, you can actually get the liable person's insurance to pay! This would go against their insurance and you would not have any out-of-pocket expenses like your deductible.
So, next time you get in the car after a snow shower, make sure that you are not carrying around insurance missiles because you don't want to deal with the aftermath - and you certainly wouldn't want to actually hurt anyone!
